# Equinox & In-Game Issues

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="My images disappear after a while">
    Discord image links may expire and FiveM no longer supports Imgur in the same way it previously did.

    For longer-term image hosting, use an in-character phone upload or a supported image hosting service such as **FiveManage**.

    Members of the Department of Public Safety may also have access to the **Equinox ShareX token**.

    If you need assistance configuring ShareX with the Equinox uploader, open a support ticket.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Pure Mode / Invalid Modified Game Files">
    Equinox operates using **Pure Mode Level 1**.

    This prevents many client-side modifications from loading while connected.

    If FiveM reports an invalid or modified game file:

    * Remove the client modification mentioned in the error.
    * Remove or update modified siren, weapon, graphics, or game files.
    * Verify your GTA V files.
    * Restart FiveM and reconnect.

    Errors referencing an `.rpf` file may indicate that a GTA V archive has been modified or is outdated.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="My minimap does not fit inside the HUD">
    This is usually related to your GTA V display safezone.

    **Try the following:**

    1. Open GTA V **Display Settings**.
    2. Reset your display settings.
    3. If the issue remains, adjust the **Safezone** slider until the minimap fits correctly.

    Enter:

    ```text theme={"dark"}
    /crosshair
# Connection Issues
<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="CURL 28 Connection Error">
    **Possible causes:**
    * The server is temporarily unavailable.
    * The server address has changed.
    * You are using an outdated Cfx.re connection link.
    * The server address being used is incorrect.
    **Try flushing your Windows DNS:**
    1. Press **Windows Key + X**.
    2. Open **Terminal** or **Command Prompt**.
    3. Enter:
    ```text theme={"dark"}
    ipconfig /flushdns

    5. Attempt to connect again.

    If the problem continues, open a support ticket.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="CURL 56 Connection Error">
    CURL 56 errors are commonly associated with a connection being interrupted.

# FiveM Installation & File Errors

    %localappdata%

    cache
    server-cache
    server-cache-priv
    ```
    **Custom FiveM installation:**
    Navigate to your FiveM installation and open:
    ```text theme={"dark"}
    FiveM Application Data\data
    ```
    Then delete the same cache folders.
    <Note>
    </Note>
  </Accordion>
  <Accordion title="Could not load CitizenGame.dll or another DLL">
    This usually means a required FiveM file has been removed, blocked, or corrupted.
    Errors may include:
    ```text theme={"dark"}

    Could not load [name].dll
    Error loading component [name].dll

    3. Repair or reinstall FiveM if necessary.
    4. Locate your FiveM Application Data directory.

    * If FiveM asks whether you want to update game storage, select **Yes**.
    * Verify your GTA V installation.
    * Make sure GTA V is fully updated.
    * Check that FiveM is pointing to the correct GTA V installation.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Could not find game executable">
    This usually means FiveM cannot locate your GTA V installation.

    **Locate your FiveM directory:**

    Press **Windows Key + R** and enter:

    ```text theme={"dark"}
    %localappdata%\FiveM
    ```

    If you installed FiveM somewhere manually, use that installation folder instead.

    Locate:

    ```text theme={"dark"}
    CitizenFX.ini
    ```

    Open it with a text editor and check the `IVPATH=` entry.

    It should point to your actual GTA V installation directory.

  <Accordion title="Opening database privcache failed / could not lock file">
    This error means another process may be preventing FiveM from accessing its cache files.

    **Start with:**

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. Close unnecessary background programs.
    3. Temporarily check whether antivirus or security software is locking the file.

    resmon
    ```
    server-cache-priv
    ```

    Look for a process other than FiveM that may be holding the file open.

    <Warning>
      Do not disable random Windows services, startup applications, or registry entries unless you understand what they do. If you're unsure, open a support ticket instead.

# FiveM Client Issues

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Make sure you are not using the Canary release channel">
    FiveM's Canary channel is intended for testing and may cause unexpected behavior or crashes during normal play.

    **If FiveM opens:**

    1. Open FiveM.
    2. Open **Settings**.
    3. Find the update or release channel setting.
    4. Make sure you are using the normal **Release** channel.

    remove that line, save the file, and restart FiveM.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Invalid fixup, address is neither virtual nor physical">
    This may be related to conflicting server maps or clothing assets.

    Because this may be a server-side resource problem, players generally cannot fix it themselves.

    **What to do:**

    1. Take a screenshot of the full crash message.
    2. Note what you were doing immediately before the crash.
    3. Open an Equinox support ticket.

    Staff can forward the information to the development team.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Failed to call inflate() for streaming file">
    Errors similar to:

    ```text theme={"dark"}
    Failed to call inflate() for streaming file [name].ytd
    ```

    may indicate a corrupted or invalid streamed server resource.

    This is generally something the development team needs to investigate.

    **What to do:**

    * Take a screenshot of the crash.
    * Make sure the resource or file name is visible.
    * Open an Equinox support ticket.

    Including the exact file name makes the issue much easier to locate.

# Antivirus & Security Software

<AccordionGroup>

    * FiveM closing during installation
    * FiveM downloads being blocked

    * Installations becoming stuck
    * File movement errors

    5. Reinstall or launch FiveM.
    6. Re-enable your antivirus protection afterward.

    <Warning>

# Graphics & Client Modifications

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Crashes involving d3d11.dll">
    A crash referencing `d3d11.dll` is commonly associated with a graphics modification.

    Examples may include:

    ```text theme={"dark"}
    d3d11.dll
    d3d11.dll?EnsureChildDevice@...
    ```

    The `d3d11.dll` file is not part of a standard GTA V or FiveM installation.

    **Try the following:**

    1. Close FiveM.
    2. Locate your GTA V installation.
    3. Remove graphics-mod files such as:

    ```text theme={"dark"}
    d3d11.dll
    d3dcompiler_46e.dll
    ```

    4. Verify your GTA V files.
    5. Relaunch FiveM.

    If you intentionally use a graphics modification, review that modification's installation instructions before reinstalling it.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Graphics mods are not working">
    FiveM changes may occasionally affect the way graphics modifications are loaded.

    If a graphics modification stops working:

    1. Locate your FiveM installation.
    2. Confirm the modification is installed using the method currently required by FiveM.
    3. Check your FiveM graphics-related settings.
    4. Make sure the modification is compatible with Pure Mode.
    5. Remove the modification and test FiveM without it.

    <Note>
      Equinox uses **Pure Mode Level 1**, so some client modifications may intentionally be blocked while connected.
    </Note>

    If the problem is specific to FiveM rather than Equinox, you may also use the official [Cfx.re Technical Support forum](https://forum.cfx.re/c/technical-support/27).
