# Insurance

> Learn how Health, Home, and Auto Insurance protect your character, property, vehicles, and finances throughout Equinox Roleplay.

Insurance gives your character real protection when things go wrong.

Equinox offers three primary forms of coverage:

* **Health Insurance**
* **Home Insurance**
* **Auto Insurance**

Some coverage is optional, but **Auto Insurance is required for any vehicle legally operating on public roadways**.

  ### Insurance Has Real Benefits

  Insurance isn't just paperwork or a roleplay prop.

  The coverage your character carries can directly affect:

  * Medical costs
  * Property claims
  * Vehicle repairs
  * Vehicle recovery
  * Financial losses after major incidents

# Health Insurance

Medical treatment can get expensive quickly.

Health Insurance helps reduce the financial impact when your character needs care.

### Health Coverage Benefits

Health Insurance can:

* Reduce treatment costs with **Nurse Nancy**
* Cover standard medical treatment provided by EMS
* Reduce the amount your character spends on qualifying healthcare

<Info>
  ### Get Covered Before You Need It

  Health Insurance is most useful when it's already active before your character gets injured.

  Waiting until after something happens may leave you responsible for the full cost.
</Info>

If your character regularly finds themselves in dangerous situations, the savings can add up quickly.

# Home Insurance

Your home may contain some of the most valuable belongings your character owns.

Home Insurance provides protection when qualifying losses occur involving the property.

### Home Coverage Benefits

Home Insurance:

* Protects your property from qualifying break-ins
* Is required for claims involving home invasions or stolen property
* Gives your character a way to pursue covered losses

<Warning>
  ### No Coverage, No Claim

  If your character does not have Home Insurance, losses involving a home invasion or stolen property may be entirely your responsibility.

  **If you don't insure it, don't expect it to be covered.**
</Warning>

# Auto Insurance

Auto Insurance is one of the most important forms of coverage available.

Unlike Health and Home Insurance, **Auto Insurance is required for vehicles legally operating on public roadways**.

<Warning>
  ### Auto Insurance Is Required

  If your character intends to legally operate a vehicle on public roads, that vehicle must have active Auto Insurance.
</Warning>

### Auto Coverage Benefits

Auto Insurance can provide protection involving:

* Minor vehicle accidents
* Mechanic-handled repairs
* Major criminal incidents involving the vehicle
* Vehicle chopping
* Qualifying vehicle recovery

# Vehicle Chopping Protection

Personal vehicles can become involved in criminal systems such as the **Chop Shop**.

If an insured vehicle is chopped, insurance gives your character a way to recover from the loss.

<Info>
  ### Your Vehicle Isn't Necessarily Gone Forever

  If your vehicle is removed as part of a qualifying vehicle-chopping incident, insurance allows the vehicle to be restored through the appropriate recovery process.
</Info>

This is one of the biggest reasons to keep valuable vehicles properly insured.

# Major Vehicle Losses

Certain crimes can result in much more than a damaged bumper.

In qualifying situations, a vehicle may be removed from the active database as part of the crime system.

If that happens, active insurance allows the vehicle to be **restored** through the appropriate claim or recovery process.

# Why Insurance Matters

It can be tempting to treat insurance as another expense.

That works right up until something happens.

Your character could:

* Need emergency medical treatment
* Have property stolen from their home
* Get into a vehicle accident
* Have their vehicle targeted by criminals
* Lose a vehicle through a major criminal event

Insurance helps turn those situations from potentially devastating financial losses into manageable setbacks.

<Note>
  Insurance does not prevent bad things from happening.

  It gives your character protection **after they do**.

# Getting Insurance

Insurance policies are available through licensed **Insurance Sales Representatives** throughout Los Santos.

Speak with a representative to learn about the available coverage and get your character insured.

<Tip>
  Don't wait until you're standing next to a totaled car or missing property to start thinking about insurance.

# What Should I Insure?

That depends on what your character owns and what risks they're willing to take.

* You regularly require medical treatment
* Your character participates in dangerous work
* Your character frequently ends up injured
* You want to reduce qualifying treatment costs

### Consider Home Insurance If...

* You own property
* You store valuable belongings at home
* You want protection for qualifying break-in or theft claims

### You Need Auto Insurance If...

* You operate a vehicle legally on public roadways
* You want protection against qualifying accidents
* You want recovery options after serious vehicle-related incidents
