Start Small
Everybody wants to be the person hitting banks, running crews, and making serious money. That doesn’t mean your character should arrive in the city already knowing everything. Good criminal roleplay has progression. Maybe you start with petty crime. Maybe you meet someone who knows someone. Maybe you get burned on your first job. Maybe another criminal takes advantage of you. Maybe the cops catch you. Maybe that arrest introduces you to the person who eventually becomes your closest associate. Don’t rush to the endgame. The climb is usually more interesting than the destination.Criminal progression should feel earned.
Connections, knowledge, reputation, and access to larger opportunities should develop naturally through roleplay.Criminal Tiers
Criminal activities on Equinox are generally separated into tiers based on their progression, complexity, and expected police presence. Higher-tier criminal activity generally represents more serious or advanced roleplay opportunities.A higher tier does not automatically mean better roleplay.A Tier 1 situation with strong characters and good interaction can create a far better scene than a major heist rushed purely for profit.
Crime & Police Requirements
What the Tiers Mean
Tier 1
Entry-level criminal activity. These jobs are a good place for newer criminals to begin developing contacts, experience, and their reputation.
Tier 2
Established criminal activity.Your character should generally have some experience, connections, and understanding of the criminal world before reaching this point.
Tier 3
Serious criminal operations. These situations carry greater risk, stronger police responses, and more significant potential consequences.
Tier 4
Major criminal activity. These jobs should feel significant. Treat them like major events in your character’s criminal story rather than another routine paycheck.
